The outermost layer of skin is made up of keratin, which really really really likes oils much more than it likes water - “Hey water you can’t sit with us!” 

3. Your skin is like a Sponge – it absorbs things. While the outermost layer of skin is designed to repel water, it can also selectively absorb oily substances that are small enough to penetrate in between the cells and get unnnnnder your skin!

Nice to know… but Ooh, that smell: Body odour comes from a second kind of sweat—a fatty secretion produced by the apocrine sweat glands, found mostly around the armpits, genitals, and anus. The odour is caused by bacteria on the skin eating and digesting those fatty compounds. Yum! 

6. Your skin is like a Switchboard – it “transfer information”. Nerves in the skin respond to different stimuli, including touch, pain, pressure and temperature by passing along information to the central nervous system…That’s why massages feel soooooo good!

In 2013, a real estate company made an offer to their employees that many couldn’t refuse: get a company logo tattooed on your body, and receive a 15 percent pay raise. Believe it or not, but dozens accepted the offer. 

2. Did you know tattooing is prohibited in American prisons? Yeah, and though is prohibited they still do it widely, and since they don’t have a professional artist inside the prision well, this are the materials they use to do them: ballpoint pens, paper clips, soot and guitar strings, ouch! 

3.For the Ainu women in Japan have tattoos of giant-sized lips on their faces is very common. Lip tattooing was seen as a mark of maturity and believed to repel evil spirits. 

4. But lets not stop talking about the Japanese! The most famous of all criminal tattoos are worn by the Japanese mafia, the Yakuza. They wear traditional designs in a full body suit that can be hidden entirely from view by clothes as an sign of their commitment to their gang!

5. And last but not least, the toy maker Mattel had introduced the Butterfly Art Barbie in 1999, which featured a butterfly tattoo on the doll’s stomach.
